From CNN, on the Republican side, with 76% of precincts in...
From several reports, it looks like Edwards is edging out Clinton.
Very interesting.
Posted by: Monique at January 3, 2008 10:53 PMI found it very interesting that Fox News gave Fred Thompson no coverage tonight. There was some discussion of whether Huckabee can keep the momentum and quite a bit in terms of what Iowa means for Romney, McCain and even Giuliani. But if the bronze winner tonight was even mentioned - I missed it.
Posted by: George at January 4, 2008 1:07 AMit was worth watching just to see hillary's "inevitability"suffer a huge blow-i would love to see the morning after in her headquarters-flying crockery and swearing and foot stomping, not to mention that horrendous ratchety voice-maybe they'll sacrifice mandy grunwald to satan to ensure a win

I picked up on the same thing, which they've been doing for a while (as has most of the media).
I read somewhere that Murdoch is supporting Hillary, and has warm feelings toward Giuliani. That would explain much.
As the only "true" conservative in the race (leaving Duncan Hunter aside), i.e., the only "true" conservative among the candidates with name recognition, I can see why the MSM would want to keep Thompson from getting traction (or even sabotage him). But from Fox this is inexcusable.
Posted by: Tom W at January 4, 2008 10:25 AMMaybe Sean Hannity's the true 800-pound gorilla at Fox, given his lovefest with Guiliani. Would you want to be an FNC exec facing an angry Hannity?
Posted by: rhody at January 4, 2008 11:06 AMHi!
Huckabee did quite well. It appears it could come down to essentially a Huckabee-McCain race on the GOP side.
Romney it appears may lose NH and where's does he win? Giuliani planning on a win later down the line is possible, but is it really plausible, not winning any of the early contests and waiting till Florida? Thompson does not seem to have the fire in the belly and his campaign needs to show more life!
FYI I will be running for a Huckabee delegate in Rhode Island's 2ND Congressional District.

I hope Iowans are as much an anomoly as the networks have been saying they are.
I am Christian and conservative, but I fear that those who go to the ballot box with only social conservatism in mind place our economy and national security at great risk.
On the abortion front, what huge difference has there been between the Bill Clinton presidency and that of G.W. Bush? I would also say the "gay agenda" may have been somewhat restrained, but is still ahead of where it was 8 years ago.
What social policy a President can actually promulgate during his term in office is slight compared to the impact his (dare I say /her) policies can have on the economy and national security.
We need to be very careful what we "pray" for.
Posted by: George at January 4, 2008 1:09 PMI'm new to being actively political here in RI other than voting. I'm excited Huckabee won, and my husband and I are planning to turn in our delegate papers on Monday for Huckabee (1st District)after getting final word from his campaign. We have been registered Republicans, but have just recently deicded we needed to do more than just vote.
