Tell Us What You Really Think, Pat
Carroll Andrew Morse
I'd be interested to hearing a fuller explanation of exactly what it is that NEA Assistant Executive Director Pat Crowley likes about this video that he's posted at RI Future under the heading of "Oh if only the world worked like this"
He seems to be suggesting that he'd prefer a world with much less job security for white collar professionals -- not just executives, but for accountants and computers programmers and the like, the working stiffs of the corporate world -- so they'll forced to be dependent on…on…what exactly?
Good thing he's not in a job where he's responsible for protecting the interests of white collar professionals. Oh, wait…

Not to worry.
While public school teachers COULD be "white collar professionals," now and for the foreseeable future they AREN'T because their compulsory membership in NEA / AFT dictates that they aren't professionals, rather they are merely glorified "line" workers of an industrial model.
Real professionals assume responsibility for their own performance; are held accountable for their own performance; don't strike or work to contract; and don't rely upon seniority to advance or tenure for job security.

Ooo!! Ooo!! I know! I know!!

Professional? I think not, they're piece workers.

Please enlighten us, because I still don't get it. Note that there's no sign of a union anywhere, so that's not it. What could it be that union activist PC finds desirable about the world depicted in the video?

{OT comment deleted. And you're not being censored. The government does not and will not have anything to say about the content of this blog. You're free to go elsewhere to express yourself, but AR comments section is not your own personal open forum, whether your causes are just or not.}
