And for the latest from the Projo "Most of the 10 Republicans said last night that the town canvassers are wrong about their voting affiliations. They may have voted in the past as registered Republicans but, they said, they disaffiliated from the party afterward."
But it gets even better.” Most of the 10 Republicans said last night that the town canvassers are wrong about their voting affiliations. They may have voted in the past as registered Republicans but, they said, they disaffiliated from the party afterward..."
“The Town Clerk has released the names of the 10 voters who are registered Republicans, according to the canvassers’ records.
In addition to King, Susan L. Harris, Angela Gonsalves, and Anne Helmstetter all said last night that they had disaffiliated after voting in Republican primaries two years ago. Of those who disclosed their votes, three said they voted for Alves. "
"
Helmstetter keeps her disaffiliation forms after every primary, just in case she has to produce them in order to vote like she did last month.
“I was distressed when they challenged me and handed me a Republican ticket,” she said. “I came home and I had the paper. I take voting very seriously and I would raise the roof on that place if they’d continued to challenge me. This has nothing to do with Alves.”
So we now have three of the 10 alleged "Republicans admitting they voted for Alves"
There is absolutely no way, however ones does the Math that Alves can claim he might have won!
That said, there is no doubt in my mind that Frank Williams and the other members of the RI Supreme Court will give Alves a new election.
Guess the new Northern RI Courthouse and protecting the Judiciary from Pension Reform” are more important that the rule of law or justice.
By the way, after reading the story in the Projo about the state facing a significant drop in the revenue stream, the cost of a new “election” to satisfy Alves’ ego trumps the taxpayers of the state.
We get the Government, We Deserve!
"...We get the Government, We Deserve!"
Or maybe better stated… We deserve the government, we permit to operate as this states does"
