E-Verify and Rhode Island's General Officers

Monique Chartier

Anchor Rising asked all of Rhode Island's General Officers, other than the Governor, their stance on e-verify.

Governor Carcieri - Supports

Lieutenant Governor Roberts - Opposes. Her office issued the following statement to Anchor Rising.

Lt. Governor Roberts complies with all state and federal immigration laws when it comes to hiring employees in her office - including verification of appropriate documentation to confirm the eligibility of prospective employees for employment. All employers, whether public or private must and should comply with these legal requirements. The Lt. Governor continues to have concerns however about the reliability and validity of the e-verify system as well as the new burdens that this system may place on already distressed employers. Large scale errors in that system can compromise the rights of prospective employees who are American citizens as well as legal immigrants. Until the system is improved and reliable the Lt. Governor is uncomfortable with requiring RI employers to be burdened by a new system when they can already comply with the law in ways that may be more appropriate to their businesses.

General Treasurer Caprio - Er, judge for yourself

Attorney General Lynch - No response

Secretary of State Mollis - No response

There should be a law against invertebrates running for public office.

questions for el tee Roberts: How is it an unreliable system? How many instances has it been used and in how many of those has it proven unreliable? What would make it reliable in your opinion?

I'm so fed up with people who know something is broken but have no idea how to fix it or replace it.

Is Liz Roberts full of cr*p or what?

She has concerns with "reliability and validity of the e-verify system"? Hey Liz! How about doing something to MAKE it more reliable and valid. You know, do something worthwhile as you collect a paycheck for a do nothing office!

Am I wrong? If you are singled out by e-verify, do you not have a right to question it?
Do not most HR departments do checks on prospective employees?

Just to prove she IS wrong ... the company I work for (private company) implemented E-Verify after Governor Carcieri brought it up. Our cleaning company was fired and replaced because of it. Fourteen full time employees were also fired ... one with 18 years in the company ... because they were illegal.

Hey Liz, What do you have to say to the 14 "LEGAL" folks that didn't have a job because of these ILLEGALS!

Think I'll send her a letter ... may I use this reply of hers?

Lizzie is a real piece of work and a Pelosi robotron. This being said, the stupid, stupid, stupid people of RI will vote her right in. No problemo.

So, Roberts, Lynch, Caprio and the ever perennial d**chebag Mollis, pretty much fall into line when there's a quack call.

Johno
"14 full time employees were fired, one
WITH 18 YEARS WITH THE COMPANY"

This person he/she was employed by the
company for 18 years ???????????

He/she must have been very $$$$$$ for the the company

I hope that, that employee does not have a family to feed

Hey Roland,

What kind of autocrat are you? Where do you get off calling the people of Rhode Island stupid, stupid, stupid when you are so obviously out of touch with the political reality of the state?

By the way,the DOW has climbed well above the 6,000 mark and you haven't seen fit to mention its rise. You were quick to blame Obama for its fall. Who gets the kudos for its ascent? Were you being stupid, stupid, stupid, or do you think that all of the readers of this blog are, stupid, stupid, stupid? You can fool some of the people some of the time, etc.

"If you are singled out by e-verify, do you not have a right to question it?"

Yes, you do. On those very rare instances when it kicks back an applicant legally present in the US, he or she is given the opportunity to straighten out the error. After finishing a little research, I will be putting up a post answering your other good questions about e-verify.

"Think I'll send her a letter ... may I use this reply of hers?"

Yes, it's considered public. Thanks for asking.

Workplace raids have been suspended.
This on the heels of Pelosi calling illegal aliens and their supporters "patrioits"and lawful actions by ICE agents "un-American".
Her behavior showed a lack of belief in and respect fort he rule of law.
pelosi could not herself ordered the cessation of raids.DHS,the parent department of ICE is in the Executive Branch headed by Janet Napolitano. She takes her orders from Obama. He said before the racist organization La Raza during the campaign that he would end ICE raids that"terrorize our communities".
Obama has now joined Richard Nixon in abusing the power of his office.
Obama has,in effect, repealed a Federal law without due process.
I can no longer consider this administration the legitimate government of the US.If being a patriot means trampling on the law, then I don't much want to be a patriot.
The left wngers are feeling their oats now, gloating and all that.good for them.I think it will turn to ashes in their mouths because when one law is discarded by fiat, the rule of the street and the jungle takes precedence.
I am absolutely serious.Today it's the immigration laws that are cast aside.Tomorrow, who knows?Maybe the civil rights of those who don't bend the knee to Obama and Pelosi &Co.will be eliminated.
I suggest everyone take a good look around at whoever is complicit in this scheme and make your own decision whether to respect anything that comes out of this government now.
Eric Holder is planning to release terrorists on our streets. He has facilitated this before. As far as I am concerned,Holder is a terrorist associate/enabler and an enemy of this country.I sometimes get the feeling that our government wants to capitulate to internionalism and allow our nation to slide into the sewer.
Read what our founding fathers had to say about out of control government.

Obviously I meant to say "internationalism".
