And Then There Were Four - Robitaille in for the GOP

Marc Comtois

John Robitaille has made it official, from the ProJo:

John Robitaille, has made it official: he is running for governor on the Republican ticket....He touted his experience as one of Carcieri's senior advisers, saying: "It has been an extreme honor to have served Governor Carcieri over the past two years. The experience I have gained in the executive branch of state government will be invaluable to me as I move forward with the campaign.''

Robitaille is a native Rhode Islander and a Providence College graduate. Upon graduation from PC, Robitaille was commissioned a second lieutenant and served on active duty in the U.S. Army for more than five years. While on active duty, Robitaille served with the First Armored Division in Germany and then with Headquarters Special Forces Command at Fort Bragg, according to his resume.

He has 10 years of employee and labor relations experience as well as more than 20 years experience in marketing and communications.

Robitaille will be on the Dan Yorke show at 5 PM to talk about his candidacy. Hopefully it goes better for him than it did for Rory Smith...

I like this guy already. Just an unbelievable life story that many folks can relate to. Smart guy to roll out the personal details now. Hey just maybe that's what was behind the mediots temper tantrum today?? lol Robitaille ruined some "gotcha" moments for these Dem party hacks pretending to be legit reporters?? Apparently from what Matt Allen witnessed at Robitaille's announcement the mediots from the irrelevant old guard (Bill Rappleye and Kathy Gregg) are upset because they can't get access to the current Governor so they whined at Robitaille's presser because he used to be the Gov's communication guy and they want to know if he's going to treat them the same way. Just hilarious! These mediots are too stupid to realize the very behavior (agenda) on display today is why the current Governor wants no part of them and their "Democratic party call girls" brand of journalism.
Hope Matt will link the audio exchange.

this mediot has no trouble getting access with the very accommodating governor. yes, i spent a fraction of the news conference probing whether robitaille's attack on some reporters (and when you bypass an individual and go straight to their boss to try and hurt them, it is, in my book, an attack, and an attempt to muzzle) is indicative of the would-be governor's approach to the press. and if my agenda of calling elected officials to task on hypocrisy bothers you..i won't mind if you stop watching.

Who are these elected officials you claim to be taking to task over their hypocrisy? John Robitaille is not an elected official so you surely can't be talking about him. Are you talking about Pat Lynch and the way you go after him? Can't be since you don't go after a good Democrat like Pat. You talking about David Cicilline?? Can't be since you don't go after a good Democrat like David?? You talking about Sheldon Whitehouse?? Nope, you don't go after any of our Federal Demmies even though there is lots of hypocrisy to chase down. Yeah, there's nothing to talk to Sheldon about now is there Bill?? But I do realize Shelley is hard to get at since he and his Federal Demmies routinely use the elderly as human shields at their public "forums".
You whine because you got negative feedback from some in the crowd at the Gov's signing ceremony for E-verfy (now why would anyone not like a "legit" tells a straight story reporter like you Billy?? lol) yet you don't say a word when the elderly or little children are used as props and shields during public forums and state house rallies hosted by your Democratic friends.
Bill, have you ever done any indepth investigating into the most powerful pol in RI, House Speaker Bill Murphy?? Nah!!
So who are you talking about in your post Bill?
Whose hypocrisy Bill?
Perhaps you should look in the mirror!

PS - John Robitaille went to your boss with a legit complaint over your tactics and your obvious agenda in employing those tactics. The Channel 10 ombudsman agreed with Robitaille. Don't blame Robitaille for complaining about your lack of professionalism.
Find that mirror again Bill!

I seriously doubt that's the real Rappeleye posting here. But hey, knowing his station's management won't stand up for him, his enemies can smell blood in the water.

The media is owned by the dems. Rappleye, I have stopped watching 10. And I don't have a subscription to the blojo either. You chase around R's and try to burn them at the stake for trying to save the state. You close your eyes to the corruption by the D's in this state. It seems to be a national obsession. If the dems do it it's ok, but if you are an R, beware.

I have never seen Rappleye on TV so my first direct exposure to him was on Matt's show last night. Based on that experience, I'm glad I don't have a TV.

Stay classy, Bill.

rhody trust me that was the one and only Bill Rappleye posting here. Media types read this site all the time and occasionally post, especially when they're still fired up over talk radio exposing them and their agenda by using their own words.
Kudos the WPRO and Matt Allen. Most media outlets don't allow other media to walk into their world and respond in real time to their critique. Can you imagine the spineless schmucks at the ProJo "man"ing up like that??? Uhhhh.....errrr.....hmmmmmm....NO!! lol
Talk radio is simply the best media going around here and last night was yet another example. Awesome!!

Tim, if that was really Rappeleye, the corporate overlords that own Channel 10 would've fired him. Look at what the overlords have done to Channel 10 staffing...you have your principal sports guy and health reporter anchoring on weekends. No wonder Channel 12's caught up.
The media is owned not by Dems, but by big corporations...including the ProJo. Their corporate overlords in Dallas could not possibly be called liberal.
