A Juxtaposition of Eras

Justin Katz

You probably won't get through a bag of popcorn during this Friday night film — indeed, you could almost watch the whole thing while your popcorn pops — but Andrew Klavan's humorous and cutting comparison of the dark days of the Bush Era with Obama's Recovery Summer is worth a watch:

I saw that video and it's hilarious. Even better is the one posted at Newsbusters and at National Review Online of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee explaining how today there are two Vietnams, North and South living side by side. That woman is always good for a laugh.

Sammy,

That video was pretty cute but incomplete as it left out several other "liars" who claimed Iraq had WMD; including Bob Graham, Jay Rockefeller, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and Al Gore - among others.

... not to mention the hundreds of thousands of Kurds and Iranians who were the victims of Saddam Hussein's WMD in the 80's. Oh, wait ...

Monique,
Poor bubbala,
Your side got its head handed to it in the last general election and you just can't take it. I see a lot of squiggle and cheap sarcasm - is there any other kind?- coming from you. Buck up. Another election's coming up. Stock up on towels.

For years I've been fascinated by the Left's ability to hold two contradictory ideas simultaneously. On the one hand, it's an article of faith that W was the dumbest primate ever to occupy the oval office. On the other hand, of all the public figures, both in the US and abroad, who asserted that Iraq possessed WMD in the runup to the second Iraq war, only Bush is routinely accused of lying. Everyone else who stated Iraq possessed WMD was honestly mistaken. Only Bush the moron was able to deduce that Iraq had dismantled its WMD program and was nevertheless refusing to cooperate with UN inspectors in a way that would result in the lifting of sanctions.
