RIGOP "All In" for Healey as Lt. Guv

Marc Comtois

According to the ProJo, GOP Candidate for Lt. Governor Heidi Rodgers is going to pull out, leaving the way clear for Cool Moose Party Candidate Bob Healey.

Rogers said she was dropping out to give Healey a better chance of winning because "Bob Healey and I believe in the same vision for the office of Lieutenant Governor'' and "with both of us running on the same platform for the same office, the outcome would be to hand over the election to the incumbent Democrat.

"Splitting the "abolish the office" vote by having two candidates simply does not make sense, and it is my firm belief that it would deny the voters a clear choice,'' she said.

Sounds like there was a lot of strategery going on. We'll see if it works.

All I can say is that if Bob was a part of this "strategery" it tarnishes his image for me. I don't care who does it, but I hate politicians that have to scheme to achieve.

People need to have more respect for the office they run for than to run for it as part of a ploy.

It sure does smell of a ploy to keep Russo out of the November election. Russo winning would have pulled just enough Republican votes away from Healey. Now the state GOP can rally behind Healey for the post.

Has Rogers given a real reason as to why she wanted the seat 4 days ago but not today?

I doubt Healey was behind the strategery. I woudln't be surprised if Gio and Rogers called him a while back and explained their plan and Bob just said "Mmm-hmm, ok".

Vote Healey!

I approve, although I would have liked to see Healey pull out instead. One way or another, the race wasn't big enough for both. It will still be a long shot, but at least the forces of good will have the strongest possible position in November.

Healey doesn't play games. He was in this long before Rogers, and would stay in it with or without her as an opponent. If the GOP is open enough to clear the path for him, then good for them. If Bob was really into strategery, then he'd shed the hippie look and cut his hair and beard. We all know that ain't gonna happen because he is who he is and makes no excuses for it. Go Cool Moose!

The morons of this state will vote overwhelmingly to spend a million dollars a year on Liz.
Why not---
she's invaluable.
