Numbers on District 1 from the NRCC

Carroll Andrew Morse

Former Projo reporter, now Congressional Quarterly reporter Steve Peoples has the numbers from the National Republican Congressional Committee internal poll showing the First District race tightening...

Many believed that Cicilline would have a relatively easy victory in the heavily Democratic Ocean State. But the Public Opinion Strategies poll found that the mayor has high negatives and earns just 41 percent support among 300 likely voters surveyed Oct. 20-21. Loughlin also earned 41 percent in the poll that had a 5.6-point margin of error.

Among those most likely to vote, Loughlin was ahead 45 percent to 41 percent, according to pollster Gene Ulm, who said the margin of error for this groups exceeds 6 points.

Comments

I am asking everyone I know in District 1 to vote against Cicilline because he is just a horror story.
Being in District 2,I am supporting Mark Zaccaria, but he is facing a candidate with no real high negatives,so it's a tough fight for him.
If this state sends a miserable little puke like Chi-Chi to Washington we will again be shamed.
My neice's husband from Tampa askedme yesterday-can't you people egt rid of that scumbag Senator up there-he's an idiot.
Guess who he was referring to?It wasn't Jack Reed.(No prize himself)

And this poll was taken prior to Providence's internal auditor exposing Cicilline's lies and fraud regarding the budget & providence pension system. That report was pure gold that even Cicilline's scare tactics with seniors and incompetent voters can't get around!

Hopefully the NRCC can capitalize on that & put Rep Loughlin over the finish line.

If the NRCC doesn't give Loughlin some real money, they should eat sh*t and die.
He's no RINO and he's an honest, decent candidate-something Cicilline could never understand.
I notice the projo.com seems to be avoiding the auditor's reports.I don't touch the actual paper itself unless it's in the free reading pile in a coffee shop.I will never give a cent to that fish wrap.(Apologies to the fish).

If I'm Loughlin's manager, I tell him to shut his yap on this global warming denial stuff. If he blows what should be a winnable race, that's the cause - he needs the moderate vote to pull this out.

"Providence's internal auditor exposing Cicilline's lies and fraud regarding the budget & providence pension system. That report was pure gold "

Yup. Cicilline was undoubtedly praying that his political promotion came through before those numbers hit the headlines. But it was not to be.

Now Local 799 (yo, Michael!) has announced that they will be filing suit against the city for failing to properly fund the pension. Did the mayor propose pension payments in his budget which the City Council subsequently removed? Or did he find it easier to balance the budget without including those payments? All of this needs to be sorted out so be sure to name the mayor in that suit, boys.

hellas-Loughlin doesn't deny global warming-he is questioning what the cause is.

Doesn't matter - best to keep religion out of the race.

If Machtley or Schneider were on the ballot, I'd vote for either of them over Chi-Chi in a second. But when he went to Arizona for the cheap photo op with the likes of Joe Arpaio, Loughlin lost my vote.

hellas-John didn't hang out with Arpaio-he was with Sherrif Paul Babeau, who is a serious man.
