Thanks to WPRI-TV's Ted Nesi, for inviting me to contribute a guest post to Nesi's Notes this summer.
The essay begins with the big picture...
If you are interested in understanding the eternal wisdom of the conservative viewpoint towards government, here are two questions to ask yourself: Do we really think that people are smarter now than they were in medieval times? Are we really sure we know more about governing ourselves than did our ancestors?...and ends up in Rhode Island (Woonsocket, to be specific).

Democracy has failed in RI's cities and many of its towns. The cronies and union piggies have proven de Tocgeville's words , to paraphrase, that "democracy lasts only until the voters decide to raid the public largesse."

Amazing, and in those days they weren't even able to test remotely for adrenalin levels (announced today).
Re: "Medieval times" Recent discoveries are showing that people in the Middle Ages existed on a much higher technological level than previously supposed.(as though the cathederals weren't proof enough. They were held back by a delayed translation of Euclid and the "Guild System")
