In a Providence Journal Political Scene article about his speech to the Democrat National Convention, Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee had this to say about his experience in office:

I get so tired of that one! Didn't they investigate what was going on when they ran for the job?
If a plumber took a job as an electrician, then complained he didn't know there was a wiring code, what would you think?
