The RI Center for Freedom & Prosperity has posted state payroll information to its transparency Web site, RIOpenGov.org. The site lists all state employees by name, department, and division, and presents their pay, including overtime, for the years 2010 and 2011.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is the absolute best single thing that can be done to ensure good government and fair compensation for public employees.
The Federal database and the old RI databases have been invaluable sources of information for me and other good-government advocates. It would be great to get the municipal databases online as well, as the Boston Herald does each year for that city. This is a great start and precedent.
Posted by: Dan at April 2, 2013 3:26 PMThese 100,000 and 200,000 + + wages are absolutely outrageous. Every time I hear about stuff like this I remember how the Righties have wet their pants over every proposal to raise the minimum wage by a few pennies, with false predictions of economic doom, which never come true.
Just another example of how the folks on the right want to control every aspect of our lives
Posted by: Sammy in Arizona at April 2, 2013 5:18 PMSammy the Troll is even more incoherent than usual. Anyone understand how opposing a minimum wage increase (which nobody predicted would be "economic doom") is controlling every aspect of our lives? No, didn't think so.
