BREAKING: Rhode Islander Ken McKay Resigns RNC
RNC Chief of Staff and former staffer for Governor Carcieri, Ken McKay has resigned over controversy:
Republican National Committee chief of staff Ken McKay has resigned in the wake of a controversy over an expenditure at a risque California nightclub, RNC communications director Doug Heye said Monday.
McKay’s resignation comes one week after the Daily Caller Web site reported that the RNC’s January expenditure report included nearly $2,000 spent at Voyeur in West Hollywood, a topless nightclub.
RNC officials worked to distance Chairman Michael Steele from the controversy — insisting that not only was he not in attendance but that he had no knowledge of the reimbursement — and promised changes in the way that people were reimbursed by the committee.
The party of high morals – only bondage lessies pole dancing will do.
Probably one of the only times I’ve agreed with Stuart. Republicans are just as much of scumbags as Democrats with regard to family values. If you can’t keep it in your pants or at least not look like an a-hole, then don’t tell other people about how to run their families.
Only difference is that the GOP are repressed, which is why mens rooms, diapers, meth and male prostitutes and les bondage is their deal – while Dems simply cheat with actual women (Edwards) or pick really high prices and stunning escort services (Spitzer).
I think more in the GOP have been caught with gay sex, messing with pages and dress-up, etc.
But who’s counting?
Truth is, power is hard to cope with. I’ve seen it happen on the female side too, where lowly council women or other women in politics started screwing around because they thought they were something special.
It is the rare pol who retains humility…which is pretty amazing, since when you get on the inside (which I have been), you often see that the pol is often not a real winner, but rather the only FOOL they can find to spout the nonsense of the local party.
Stuart,
Please don’t reproduce.
Having read the article it seems that Ken McKay was very highly thought of by those who worked with him.
As an outside observer I can tell you that Michael Steele is incredibly unimpressive as a party spokeman and I have yet to see a national gameplan from the Repub party to win back Congress in the fall.
Seems like those knuckleheads got rid of the wrong person.
Defender, somehow I don’t think we need to worry about that with Stu? lol
Maybe it’s just me, but more so than the club visited, I’m shocked someone would actually submit a reimbursement for it.
On a side note, political “shadyness” knows no boundaries or affiliation.
Too late friends…..grand children are popping now, so you’ll have to wait until the GOP can institute their eugenics programs and then maybe you can stop the line. Heck, the Russkies and the Nazis tried to wipe out my family, but some got away! Tough luck.
In our family, we celebrate sex – not look to make it a sin like Justin!
Gay marriage – bad.
Hot lesbian action – good.
Did these people realize they’re sending the mother of all mixed messages?
good post.
