The world of politicians is such an alien world to me – facts and merit totally irrelevant, rhetoric all that matters. I would never dream of showing up to court without having read every page in a case file.

Monique, it gets even better.
Posner and Crowley never read the law either.
The anti-American lefties in this government just can’t help themselves.
So embarrassing!

While we all know that politicians cannot read every word , of every bill; we like to hope that they keep up on the important ones. This expectation seems to have died an unlamented death.
This was brought home forcefully during the Obamacare hearings. It was very strange to hear them announce that they had not read it, but were voting for it anyway. “And the crowd roared”.

Warrington Faust… or vote against it without reading it and the crowd spit and swore- your point is well taken.
