WPRI Poll: The First Congressional Weasel Loses By Ten Points to [gasp] a Republican

The horror.

Congressman David Cicilline would lose to his Republican opponent by more than 10 points if an election were held today, according to an exclusive WPRI 12 poll that finds many voters are unhappy with the first-term Democrat.
The new survey of 300 registered voters in Rhode Island’s 1st Congressional District shows Cicilline’s 2010 opponent, former state Rep. John Loughlin, would defeat him 47 percent to 35 percent, with 17 percent undecided.
Another Republican, former State Police Col. Brendan Doherty, would beat Cicilline 46 percent to 33 percent, with 20 percent undecided, the poll reveals.

I’d have thought the deficits would be much bigger than 12 or 13 points. But then again, the GOP would have that seat if it had its act together.
I’m already hearing Doherty being called a RINO, as would any Republican with a reasonable shot of winning the seat. Prediction; Cicilline gets re-elected unless the GOP heads off a primary.

The most amazing part is that Cicilline can still get 35%. Or even worse that at least 60% of the Democrats polled said they’d vote for Cicilline over Doherty or Loughlin. Holy cow. What does it take for you morons to open your eyes?
Or maybe even worse is 2% of all Republicans polled gave Cicilline a “Very Positive” rating. Disturbing.

35% really?
Republican party might as well fold up and mover to greener pastures. This state is truly doomed!

Yeah right…. lose to a Republican. As soon as election day comes RI’ers revert back to their comfortable misery…voting for the “working mans” party. The party that is destroying their state. The union bosses go into overdrive protecting their selfish interests (like $90,000 yr. jobs to connected union punksters).Bad habits are hard to break and these habits are breaking the State.

Is a person a Republican if that person is 1.) pro-choice 2.) supports the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan 3.) collects a six-figure state pension 4.) “hasn’t decided” if Obamacare is a good thing 5.) voted in a for a Democrat in a presidential primary and 6.) has some of the biggest Democratic donors in the state supporting him?
The irony is that Loughlin as the “conservative” GOP candidate outpolls the “moderate” GOP candidate in the general election head-to-head numbers.
How often does that happen in RI?

Why isn’t someone impeaching Ciccilline?
And the entire GA–which is running a Ponzi scheme that even Bernie Madoff wouldnn’t have the guts to run
