Why freedom demands father-daughter dances; the U.S., less free; PolitiFact gets a Half Fair rating for its Doherty correction; and the mainstream media cashes in some of its few remaining credibility chips for the presidential incumbent.

“China and Japan in a war of words over more territorial disputes as Asia watches unsure of the U.S. position; more unrest against the U.S. in the Middle East; a new cartoon uproar in France as it evacuates embassies; Americans cannot patrol any longer with the Afghan troops they are supposed to train; Iraq slipping out of the U.S. orbit; Israel and the U.S. at a historic divide; Iran full-speed ahead on nuclear-weapons proliferation; “lead from behind”/ Cairo-speech strategy going up in the smoke of the Arab Spring; Syria — who knows what?; EU warnings on U.S. debt, borrowing, and printing, as weak U.S. growth, unemployment, and energy prices hit the public — and in reaction we get presidential summits with Letterman, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z as the media goes ballistic over a video in which Romney warns that nearly half the population is becoming dependent on government.”
Well said, Victor D.H.
Add to that: while President Obama was, as recently as last night on Letterman, blaming (either before or after pretending not to know the amount of the national debt) the killing of four Americans at the Libyan embassy on that ridiculous Youtube clip, his own administration has allowed as how, well, yes,
“they were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy”

Hanson has it wrong when he writes “a video in which Romney warns that nearly half the population is becoming dependent on government.”. He was not heard “warning” anyone. He was heard saying that he was writing off 47 per cent of the population in the US. What that has to do with China or Japan or Letterman is anyone’s guess, but mine is that is an attempt by this conservative to distract and divert attention away from the now not secret video and blame the President for anything and everything including relations between China and Japan. And then blame the rest of the press for not doing likewise.

“He was heard saying that he was writing off 47 per cent of the population in the US.”
Writing off? What does that mean? In reality he said there are too many dependents on government and logistically he can’t convince that many to vote for him. It was a poorly worded truism but in the world of the left it’s an opportunity for hyperbole. I’d ask what part of those two points aren’t true Phil but I wouldn’t want to force you into a lie.

Speaking of secret videos, how about the one that the LA Times has, but refuses to release. Reportedly this one shows Obama at a dinner party in honor of Salmud Rushdie, praising his anti-Israel stance. He is also shown in the company of Bernadette Dohrn and her husband.

Or how about a not-so-secret video of Obama saying he believes in redistribution of wealth:

“…our state-level law allows left-wingers from one city to impose such a stringent restriction on communities in which they do not live.”
Yes, and if a town wants to have a school sponsored “whites only” dance who are we to “impose such a stringent restriction on communities in which [we liberals] do not live?” That’s freedom too, isn’t it? Or is sexism not the same for you as other forms of discrimination?
Seriously as my daughter’s father I’m happy we live in a state that takes gender equality seriously. There’s nothing she can’t do if we only give her the opportunity.

Forty+ years ago, my mother forced me to attend the “mother and son” dance. It was a very traumatic experience, and I still have not fully recovered…

“my job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”
Is this the poorly worded truism you mentioned. How can this statement be construed as writing them off?

Phil,
You never answered my question. What did you mean by writing off? You also didn’t answer my question when I asked if he was correct in that there are too many dependents on government and logistically he can’t convince that many to vote for him. That’s the poorly worded truism. If you’re talking about him writing off their votes, then I agree but that doesn’t satisfy the left. You need to make it bigger. My favorite hyperbole over on RIF derived from this video was he doesn’t think the poor are entitled to food. Really??? Are you that naive to believe that bull?

In addition to being a troll, Sammy is either a plagiarist or in need of some new material…RIF, Projo, and now here.
