A bill (H5701) which would expressly give union contracts higher authority than local ordinances and city and town charters will be heard tomorrow by the House labor committee (h/t Mike Puyana)…
Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, in the event of any conflict between the terms of a collective bargaining agreement between a public sector employer and a public sector employee organization and terms of any charter or ordinance of any city or town, the conflict shall be resolved in favor of the collective bargaining agreement.Granting private, restricted-membership groups special privileges for overriding the decisions of elected governments is not compatible with the fundamental tenants of democracy.
It makes it pretty easy to see who the union whores are in the legislature.

This moron has no shame whatsoever.
Lally is an incompetent, good for nothing but doing union favors. While at the local “forum” of candidates in Narragansett, he was practically asleep. And when asked a question about the RI estate tax law, Lally, a lawyer, didn’t have the foggiest notion of what it was about, including the exempt amount, but that didn’t stop him from arguing in favor of it. And still he gets elected.
I have to wonder how many of these GA members who do the union bidding are on the union payrolls – above or under the table.

Rep. Lally withdrew H5701 today.
Not sure why; hopefully it had no support.
They still can wreak havoc with imposing binding arbitration. Stay vigilant!
