I did go to the R.I. State House last Saturday, where Governor Sundlun laid in state,. Got some photo with Kara and Sen. Whitehouse. Also some with Bob Weygand on the steps and with Charlie Fogarty.
Regardless of what you think of the former Governor he did not have an easy time.
An irony is that he father Walter Sundlun was the Republican nominee for United States Senate in 1954 losing to Theodore Francis Green, in Green’s last term in that body. Sundlun’s son Bruce has the terminal named after him while the man who beat his father, has the airport named after him. Green and Bruce Sundlun were Democrats.
