The RI Tea Party President on the Town Hall and the Community Dinner
On Saturday, I stopped by the Rhode Island Tea Party‘s roving protest at its stop in front of Senator Jack Reed’s offices in Cranston, where RI Tea Party founder and President Colleen Conley was one of the demonstrators.
Ms. Conley has also been on the inside (literally) at Congressman James Langevin’s town hall meeting held in Warwick this past Wedensday and at Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s and Senator Jack Reed’s community dinner held in West Warwick this past Thursday.
I asked Ms. Conley for her impressions of what transpired in the public forums with the members of our Federal delegation. The audio of her answer is available below…

I do not pretend to speak for We, The People, only myself. What I have had enough of is Collen Conley and the rest of these clowns. So she managed to take up space in both town hall meetings meaning that regular citizens were denied a chance to speak. I like the photo of the person who was said to be this Collen Conley holding a sign that read “BOO”. Too bad Tom Wah Wah was not in the frame with a sign reading “HOO”.

I’d have been too busy rolling on the floor laughing as I watched Jack Reed with his arm up Sheldon Whitehouse’s behind so he could operate his mouth – Rhode Island’s answer to Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy.
Just thought I would throw this one in. I spent a couple of days at an industrial auction this week, and fell in with a couple of guys (rednecks)from Alabama. I let them know I was from “down home” too, and after a discussion of our first guns (we both had Winchester, Model 55, “single shot automatics”) became friendly. It was amusing to discuss family graveyards and “how many at Gettysberg?”
They were surprised by two things. No one offered them lemonade and they had met a Republican. So, that is our reputation.
They let me know that even though they expected to be despised here “a Democrat can still come to my home”. I was charmed by their slow talk and redneck ways. Now is the time for “grits and gravitas”. The first words I can remember are “hush up and eat your grits”.
Someone should inform poor benighted Coleen Conley that “We The People” have already spoken last November and That Barack Obama has been elected president and that one of the items that helped sweep him into office is health care reform. Is she still in shock from the result?
