Split in the RI GOP House
Regardless of which side you fall on, all the maneuvering going on in the RI House GOP caucus has basically split it in two. As tweeted by NBC 10’s Bill Rappleye:
Watson, Earhardt, Savage and Gordon upset at Newberry/Trillo maneuvering. Bad blood
Great. Anyway, I think what has become clear throughout this little tete-a-tete is that there are careerists on the GOP side (well, both GOP sides) just as much on the Democratic. Guess we need two phone booths now.
Watson has been in the House since 1992, and Leader since 1998. Sounds like a careerist to me. I think change in this case is good for the party over all, even if the way it occurred may not have been the most optimal.
I’m confident that the 6-3-1 split will eventually work its way out. Thankfully, this isn’t an election year.
Kinda like splitting an atom, ain’t it.

Puff, puff, pass.
A tempest in a tea pot.

I guess Tweeledum and Tweedledee have found something here to comment on.
Our country’s successful neutralization of OBL was beneath their notice.
This is why I stopped engaging with the RIGOP years ago: inflated egos fighting over crumbs.
This is something that should have been handled behind closed doors. Trillo going on the radio and claiming Watson is borderline alcoholic only further validates my lower-than-dirt opinion of the RIGOP as an organization (if you can even call it that).
If it’s not Watson, then it’s somebody else. Years ago there was the split with John Holmes; Ron Machtly; Jim Bennett; Steve Laffey; the list goes on..
If Watson is the drunk Trillo says he is, why did Trillo and co. enable him all these years?
