Sarah Palin

The biggest talking point you’ll hear from the Dems re: Palin is “There goes the Obama is inexperienced argument!!! ” Perhaps. Except, the Dems “inexperienced” candidate is at the top of the ticket. Where does the American voter want the experience more? In the President, or the V.P.?
And you know what’s ticking them off? McCain picked a woman and Obama didn’t. Demographic-obsessed Dems are worried, don’t let ’em fool you. Of course, the reality is that Palin’s political ideology isn’t exactly appealing to the average PUMA out there.
Nonetheless, she’ll appeal to a lot of Mom’s out there. She’s a working mother with five kids (one son headed to Iraq, four kids at home including a newborn with Down’s syndrome) and has a blue-collar husband whose worked in the oil fields and as a fisherman. Of the four people on the respective tickets, she’s probably the most down-to-earth. And she’s got the most executive experience of them all.

Points for Palin
1. She’s kinda hot.
2. If they win, when McCain kicks over in about 18 months she’ll be the first female president.
3. She’s married to someone not in the political system.
All in all, this was a good move by McCain. Now that the players are set, can we finally hear someone say something about policy?

Excellent choice. Pro-life, fights corruption within her own party. Fiscal conservative, youthful, great appeal to women.
Nickname “Barracuda”. Got to love that.

Gotta love how the Stalinists are already screaming NO EXPERIENCE!.
Just another way for McCain to highlight Osama’s whole 18 months in the Senate before announcing he was ready to have us annoint him.
Hopefully energy will be the number 1 issue in this campaign.

Mike,
Freudian slip? “Just another way for McCain to highlight Osama’s…
The Obama campaign has already started to belittle the choice of Sarah Palin, by omitting in it’s press release that she’s the current governor of Alaska, an only as an ex-mayor … which is very good news for John McCain. I can’t wait for the debate between her and Biden … this will effectively neuter him.
Mother of 5 kids, pro-life, loves shooting guns, pro-drilling, solidly conservative, but with a soft side. It’s like Hillary from a parallel universe!

Bizarro Hillary?
I wonder is being from the state where ANWR is if it lends some weight to the pro-drilling argument?

It’s a brilliant move by McCain.
The Dems already have their panties in a knot over this!
You gotta love it.

CC. The totally off-point, actually bizzarre spin over this on RI Future is hillarious.
I’m starting to think McCain can take Rhode Island.

I already answered an attack post on Providence Daily Dose by a pro-choice woman.I expect the usual gutter-level attacks from such luminaries as “jwest”and “the other joe berstein”(can’t even spell my name)over there.
Here is why Palin is a good pick:
1)lifetime NRA member
2)pro-life
3)Governor of the physically largest, most mineral and energy rich state in the Union-also the most strategically located state
4)not a cosmopolitan intellectual from some Ivy League think tank
5)a mother of five, including a soldier and a developmentally disabled child
6)previously a union member
7)married to a man who actually earns a living in a dangerous occupation-not some scum- sucking personal injury lawyer
8)this pick will bring out the steaming turd hypocrisy of Bakst and his ilk in the rest of the country
9)she spent more time ACTUALLY being a governor than Obama has spent being a senator(he’s been campaigning almost 2 years)
10)she was also a mayor -two executive positions compared to none for the other three candidates(unless you consider McCain as a military commander).
So-what is not to like?

After listening to Rush today, I think the poor janitor who had to clean the floor of the EIB studio after his show should get combat pay.

You listen to Rush?I have a nice hair shirt I can sell you if you really enjoy punishing yourself.I haven’t listened to that windbag since he stopped being funny in the 90’s.I can’t take Hannity or O’Reilly either.
Helen Glover has a good show locally if you want to know what right of center people are thinking in Rhode Island.

Rhody,
Believe it or not, I don’t regularly listen to Rush, but I deliberately tuned in today, because I knew he’d have something to say about this. He carried her speech live, and he was absolutely beside himself. I was laughing out loud when he said “Babies, Guns, Jesus … Hot damn! This is a woman with accomplishments.” It was precious.

I am revitalized at the choice of Sarah Palin for VP. She is proof that a woman can do it all and retain her human values. I am so proud to be a consevative woman at this time in my life

I rarely listen to Rush, but this was just too tempting. It was like turning on a hockey game knowing there would be a bench-clearing brawl, or a NASCAR race knowing there’d be a 25-car pileup.
