McCain VP? A guess…Palin

Mildly Self-Serving Bump: Looks like my gut-feeling was right: Palin is the pick. I’ll leave it at this: finally, a conservative is on someone’s ticket.
=======================
A la Sgt. Schulz, “I know nothink”, but I’ve had a feeling for a few days (really, honest) that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would be the pick. Makes sense politically on a number of fronts.

I know I’m not breaking any new ground, nor do I expect plaudits as the next Nostradamus. Just a guess. We’ll see soon.
UPDATE: And it looks like the buzz is that she is the one, from NRO and Drudge’s current front page.
UPDATE 2: Or not. She’s still in Alaska according to ABC News. See, this is why I don’t predict stuff. We’ll soon find out.
UPDATE 3: Screw it, I’m all in. I still think it’s Palin and we’re seeing some head fakes from McCain.

Palin would be such a slam dunk you have to wonder why she hasn’t received much mention – unless the McCain camp thinks the investigation into her abuse of office by firing her state trooper brother-in-law is going to amount to something…

Hey JP:
Get your facts straight you dope. She didn’t fire the state trooper, but she sure should have. The guys name was Wooten; “Wooten was briefly suspended for ten days for threatening to kill McCann’s (and Palin’s) father, tasering his 11-year-old stepson, and violating game laws.”
Yeah, that’s perfectly acceptable behavior for a state trooper – dope!

Sorry, Mike Cappelli. I’ll recall my readings from the Alaskan Daily Gazette with more fervor next time.

OMG. I’m in shock. Way outside the box choice. Absolutely excellent. Game changer.
How did he manage to fool … like everyone? Wow.
PS I just may get the bumper sticker after all.

Gee, thanks. I guess I can’t do worse than the former AR Nostradamus! 😉

Second that. But we’re definitely ditching ABC as a news source; Palin had arrived in Ohio when they had her still in Alaska.

If social conservatives hate “Will & Grace” so much, how come they’re jumping for joy about McCain picking Megan Mullaly as his running mate?

I think she looks more like Tina Fey myself … which certainly isn’t a bad thing!
P.S. SNL is going to have fun with her this Fall!

I hope the Democrats attack Palin on the “ethics” charge. Not only did they KO Hillary Clinton, they’re now going to attack a woman who acted to protect another woman from an abusive and violent husband.
Gee, that seems real bright.

Anthony,
“they’re now going to attack a woman who acted to protect another woman from an abusive and violent husband.”
Precisely. I’m very confident that the McCain campaign has vetted that particular issue and many others satisfactorily. If that’s the best they can do, bring it on.
By choosing Palin, McCain isn’t trying to attract hardcore lefties and bra-burning radical feminists, he’s trying to go for the average suburban mother vote. There’s a lot more of them than you might think, and they aren’t pleased with Obama, especially after the shabby treatment of Hillary (and once Biden opens his infamous mouth, they’ll be even more displeased with him).
I think this move may also effectively neuter the so-called “gender gap” which typically hurts Republicans. McCain doesn’t need them all, he just needs enough.
