Creepy, indeed

A Kinder, Gentler, Happier Cultural Revolution.
At least as long as you don’t speak out against The One.
ADDENDUM
From Instapundit:

Reader Raymone Eckhard writes that this is creepy. Yes. Roger Simon finds it disturbing, too. “It is the kind of exploitation of children that reminds me of Young Pioneer Camps I saw when visiting the Soviet Union in the Eighties…And they complain about the religious right – can you imagine the reaction to a similar group of kids singing about McCain under the tutelage of an evangelical minister?”
UPDATE: “Daddy says if we sing well enough, we might get an extra flour ration!”

Comments from this link:

Obama’s not that bad. It’s not like he has his own flag (oops, he does in that first video). Well, it’s not like he has his own presidential seal (Oh wait, he did, but he stopped using it). It’s not like he has his own gold coins with his image on them (Oh, wait, yes does).
Uh oh…
And its not like he wrote his own book detailing his radical past or plans…(Oh, wait, he did.)…
But at least he didn’t give a rousing speech to a huge crowd in Berlin.
Oh…
Well, at least he never proclaimed that his ascension would heal the planet and make the rising waters recede.
Oh, man…

Looks like the video is no longer available on certain links. Hmmm. Think somebody is unhappy with the attention it is getting?

We are so screwed…and except for the real socialists/Marxists/progressives out there…most of America is going to have severe buyer’s remorse if the Obamanation gets elected.

Don, In entry that accompanies the video, the name “Jeff Zucker” is mentioned as part of the “grassroots” campaign that brought it all together so organically. I thought that name looked familiar and I see that Jonah Goldberg points out that Zucker is only the head of NBC/Universal. That’s called “astroturf” not grassroots.

Scary stuff, indeed.
When teaching kids to think independently gives way to indoctrination, we’re all in trouble.
It’s eerily similar to a couple of other children’s songs:
“We are for peace
And we will carry this song through all corners of the earth
Let it resonate in the hearts of humanity”
or the more familiar:
“Our youth carry love for their Great Leader in their hearts
Stalin is leading us into the future
The path he has chosen for us is the right one”

Wow!
Judging by the bookshelves behind the kids, the room looked suspiciously similar to a room in an elementary school.
Had this been innocent / gullible children corralled into singing songs praising Chairman, I mean Senator McCain, there’s no doubt that it’d be all over CBS, NBC and ABC decrying the act with comparisons to the Hitler Youth.
The more we learn about Obama, the more terrifying the prospect of him becoming President.
Charismatic presentation masking a Marxist / totalitarian worldview. Let’s hope that the general public is exposed to, and comes to recognize, the real Obama before it is too late.
His kind of “real change” is the kind that’s unfurled on a red banner.

Creepy Indeed, Donald B. Hawthorne, I would say you are, but not as creepy as Palin’s Dominionists. Could you spare a few words on Dominionism and Palin’s relatiomship to it. If you can’t check out Dominionists. Let’s remember that Palin was on stage in her church with a witchdoctor casting out evil spirits. I don’t know what is worse Palin’s scary fundamentalism or McCain’s recent discovery that fundamentalists tend to vote for bible thumpers and his acquisition of old time religion.

You mean you don’t think the Young Pioneers are cute?
This is what we deserve as a nation for turning our kids over to the communist, atheist, pervert-filled teacher unions. They should have been crushed long ago. Now we have youth who are depraved, doped up, feminized amoral slaves.

Donald, Do you really believe everything ( rightwing filtered) on the internet to be true? Were you really an elected official? How scary is that!

Completely consistent with the overall strategy of the Obama campaign – an emotional rather than a factual appeal.
In addition to the creepy tinge, all I could think as they were singing was, what change? Change to what? How will this change be accomplished?

mike,
You reveal yourself as a member of the Nazi inspired KKK, i.e. Krazy Kowboy Kapitalists. What poison you spew!
Monique,
The next original thought you have will be your first. You are AR’s resident parrot.

OldTimeLefty,
Apparently, you are now AR’s resident parrot dropping. Do you ever have a nice word to say about anything?
I happen to known quite a few “Dominionists” as some call them, and I have no reason to believe that Sarah Palin is among them. Dominionism is a very small subset of fundementalist Christianity. As far as I can tell, she subscribes to a very mainstream, non-denominational Christianity which is quite typical of what many people in the “middle” of the country believe. She did have some past association with Assembly of God/Pentacostalism starting in her teen years, but nothing involving snake-handling or anything “weird” like that.
By the way, Palin wasn’t on stage in her church with a “witchdoctor” — she was on stage with a pastor visiting from Africa. He prayed for her protection (so far, it’s been working well). Ignorant people are tend to be scared of what they don’t or can’t understand.
PS Here’s a link to a video of North Korean children signing the praises of the “Dear Leader.” You may notice the similarities to The Obamessiah.

Via Jonah Goldberg:

Update: Via Drudge: NBC/Universal chief Jeff Zucker is behind this astroturf-organic” children’s movement.
Golly, I wonder what liberals would say if a major titan of industry was using glassy-eyed kids to mythologize the messianic qualities of a redeemer figure in our politics? I wonder….
Update: Correction!
It’s a different Jeff Zucker.
I regret the error. I stand by the revulsion at the video.
