Providence Middle School Flag Brouhaha
Can someone please explain:
– the flags of which countries are subjugated to rights of free speech and which are not;
– how, when faced with a “situation” in the City of Providence, to determine if it requires a careful, six figure investigation or if it qualifies for an off-the-cuff snap judgment.
Well, Monique. I consulted the Leftwing Liberal Nutjob Desktop Reference Manual and they are quite clear on this matter.
Not every flag qualifies for protection of public desecration. A method of desecration may or may not include burning, defecation, urination, or both at once, wearing like a diaper, wearing like a bikini, wearing like a Tampon, parading at a Diaz “hrow u dude taddaaaaa” rally but displayed upside down by a state rep with a wiener fetish, displayed UNDER the non sovereign nations flag and of course, my favorite, removal of the country’s national anthem and pledging allegiance to that flag.
Now, here seems to be the only rule by which a flag cannot seem to get protectionism.
If the flag contains these three colors. Red, white and blue but only if they are arranged in an alternating red/white pattern and only if the flag also displays stars on a blue background.
Yup, that’s the only exception by which the ACLU will not come to the flags defense.
And any true American will call out the mayor of let’s say, a capital city of RI and explain to him that the flagpole doesn’t fall under any type of desecration rule and might be inserted violently into their arses.
This isn’t about a flag at all. It’s about a school administrator with a maturity level below that of the middle school students he supervises.
The whole flag/political correctness debate is beside the point. It doesn’t matter if he did this to a Dominican, American, Iraqi or Kazakhstan flag.
Rhody-there you go-can’t help siding with a couple of scumbage legislators trying to make capital out of a man reacting to a miserable day at Roger Williams.My daughter taught there for 2 years,after 5 years at Perry.Not exactly easy schools.She called and said Mr.Perkins was a very good administrator and not in the least bigoted.
The school is a lunatic asylum and I would really like to see how long you would last there.
Since my daughter is no longer teaching in Providence due to taking graduate studies out of town,she has no reason to make things up.She is also half Hispanic and would’ve noticed a prejudiced attitude in a supervisor if it existed.Mr.Perkins himself is married to a Puerto Rican.This had nothing to do with the Dominican Republic’s flag and everything to do with kids going crazy.He had 20 suspensions that day aside from this incident.
The idea that a 30 year veteran of the school system should be fired for this incident is disgusting,especially coming from a low life POS like David Cicilline and two ethnic pimp legislators.
If Mr.Perkins had done something to an American flag that cockroach Steven Brown would have been bleating in his defense.
I’ve heard Grace Diaz make up bull crap stories before,especially the one about Broad Street being “deserted” with empty businesses after an ICE raid.Nonsense.Broad Street never slows down.Actually Grace Diaz could benefit from some ESL classes.Whoever did her citizenship interview must’ve sleepwalked through it because her English is almost untelligible.

Further to your point, have the two people who led the charge on this incident, Senator Pichardo and Rep Diaz, acknowledged the true nature of this incident now that more facts have come to light? Or are they finding it irresistable to continue to reap bales of political hay by perpetuating the myth that this was a racial incident?
The guy admitted he lost his head. It’s not about racism, and dragging Diaz and Pichardo into it is just too conveeeeeient (like Diaz is a magic word that will get you cheap pop).
I just don’t want a hothead running a school, regardless of race. (I concede there’s something about Grace that brings out the hothead in people LOL).

Rhody-the point is that the man has been working for the school department for 30 years and been an administrator for 12 years-now they want to fire him over one incident.A “hothead”would perhaps have struck a kid.This man took it out on a piece of cloth on a stick.
In 1953,when I was 7 years old I was physically assaulted by a vice principal because I wouldn’t admit to doing something I HADN’T done(calling another kid a name)-he forced me to eat Boraxo and then washed out my mouth with hot water while two sixth graders held me down.Kind of like waterboarding with industrial soap added.I never mentioned it to my parents because I was afraid my father would seriously injure the guy and be sent to jail.My father probably would have-it’s not like he didn’t belt me,but it was always for a good reason.
Now,that was a hothead.His name was Paul Silverstein and when I found out he died I was happy.At least when I went to Parris Island for boot camp in 1965 I didn’t experience any big shock:))
Grace Diaz and Juan Pichardo are disgraceful people in a legislature where it takes some doing to look bad.

It’s the involvement of a flag that’ raised everyone’s emotions here. Suspension with pay seems the appropriate move – let’s investigate before there’s a firing.
Completely agree that was a twit move by Pichardo. I dislike any politician who plays the “Do you know who I am?” card.
There is exactly ONE reason Mr. Perkins is still employed, despite still being in danger of being unemployed.

Well, now, EMT, let’s look at that.
Are we to believe that this is the first school administrator in Rhode Island to lose his cool? Probably not.
He said that it could have been anything in his hands at that moment. Suppose he had been holding files in his hands instead of flags and he had stepped on some files in his exasperation and not flags? It’s a good guess that we would never have heard about his incident.
I submit, accordingly, that it is the objects that were in his hands that threaten his job, not that the color of his skin is preserving his job.
