On the Mattapalooza Scene

Two bridges and countless escalators, and I’ve finally made it to Dave & Buster’s for Mattapalooza. Haven’t made the rounds, yet, but here are a couple of pictures:

8:15 p.m.
Apart from Dan Yorke, I’ve spotted Terry Gorman. There’s a contingent of WPRO people, of course. The rest of the room, I’m guessing is fans, friends, and family. That’s the highlight of the evening, I think: seeing the callers in person.
8:27 p.m.
Terry was telling me about the Tom Tancredo event and the way in which a certain unionist stood by the door with his little camera in folks’ faces and proceeded to layer, umm, untruths on his online spin machine. If only I were funded to spend my days agitating on the dime of public-sector union dues.

Crowley was easy to spot-he was the only protester who didn’t look like he had just scrounged in a dumpster.I gave an appropriate comical gesture(non obscene)to his little camera, but I guess he chose not to display it because I was neither intimidated nor angry.
It was amusing to watch this assemblage of feckless piss-ants trying to pass themselves off as the vanguard of the “revolution”.
There were about 100-120 attendees and maybe 30 or so protesters. They were all mostly empty headed young people or old farts who looked like 60’s protest retreads trying to get in the younger ones’ pants.
The police did a good job of preventing vandalism to parked vehicles so beloved of these lowlifes. They were busy copying down our plate #’s though.
I’m terrified-eek!!
They didn’t chant the hey-hey,ho-ho garbage at least,so it was tolerable.
Tancredo was a good speaker and if he made any racist comments I must have missed that.
I am no one’s robot,so I may not be down with Tancredo 100%,but he certainly made a lot of valid points, and he really didn’t seem to be driven by hate, but rather by love of country.
The protesters sounded and looked pretty hateful. It must be tough for them getting up every and realizing what empty lives they lead, waiting for the next picketing event.
One step above a Bowery wino of days gone by.

Well with you Joe on the non intimidated part of the protest (is that all there is my friend, then let’s keep dancing), in fact, I thought they were rather amusing. A three minute loop played ad infinitum really helped me tune them out.
They weren’t there at the end of our meeting so I’m gathering they went home to do homework or needed to be asleep by 9PM to get up at 5AM for well, nothing.
Now, onto Matt. I wish him the best and I’ve enjoyed his shows but he really needs to temper talk radio without the next to occasionally go down to gutter level. With that being said, I hope he matures and stays here in the area.
Thanks Matt!!

Don’t worry Joe, you’ll make the 3rd cut.
Thing I don’t get is why Justin likes Matt Allen so much when Matt is so anti-religion?

Pat,
Someone told me that I’m in a video over there. Since I don’t actually go to RIF, I’m waiting for a minion to e-mail over a link. Must have been when I was behind the bushes taping you. I’m flattered at the attention, I truly am.
Anyway, just got back from the tail end of “Mattapalooza”. Definitely a rocking place there. I’m very glad for Matt and for what he’s been able to do with the show. As a regular listener, I certainly would not consider Matt “anti-religion.” Best I can tell, he’s quite faithful and philosophical personally, but just not prone to being with an “established” religion or to referring to himself as a Christian.

Crowley-maybe this is difficult for you to understand, but it is quite possible to believe in a Creator and a higher force without belonging to a specific religion. That is my way of belief, but I don’t much care to preach to people about what they should believe spiiritually, just as I don’t need them preaching at me.
For what it’s worth,Tancredo didn’t even have a racist undertone to what he said.
Leftists/socialists/communists,etc,have a real problem with independent thought-everything is lockstep with thrie particular party line.Hence, the long history of bloody purges.
Assimilationist thinking is quite ant-racist.The”multicultural”way of thinking which leads to an ethnic mosaic is a recipe for mutually hostile enclaves wiithin a larger society.
Assimilation doesn’t necessarily mean abandoning one’s original culture, but it does require acceptance of the larger culture to some significant degree.
Older immigrants may not be able to do this, but younger people(under 50)can and should for their own good and America’s.
Maybe you want to belong to some world village.I don’t.I will always believe in independent countries.

Will, there is a http://www.rifuture.org video on OSR. Are you no longer affiliated?
Anyway: here is the link

Glad you’re reading. I don’t write everything on the OSR, though I generally edit most of the stuff to make sure it’s formatted properly, etc. Not all writers are technically proficient. Some people prefer working behind the scenes. Someone sent over the YouTube link for that video, because they thought it would serve our purposes.
Thank you for the link. Very considerate.
PS I try to avoid visiting RIF unless forced by terrorists or something, for the same reason that I don’t pay to go to movies by liberal actors or people like Michael Moore or Al Gore. I don’t want to knowingly do anything to “help” them, even if as in your case, it’s as little as adding one page visit “tick.” Fortunately, I can get a little taste of what’s going on “over there” without actually visiting the site, through that RSS thing over on BlogNetNews.

Now Geoff, don’t be telling Pat you did it the right way, he doesn’t like stuff like that.
He wants everyone to have that right indoctrinated like a vaccine at birth, regardless of which planet they are from.

Will

Well, perhaps I’ve been pallin’ around with too many politicians and I’ve started talking like them. LOL. Anyway, it was a truthful response. Much like Justin at AR, I’m the editor, and I occasionally write stuff, too. Typically, if something on OSR represents my own personal views, you’ll see my name on it. I don’t write all the material, though saying that, I’ve rarely if ever have encountered anything stated there that I don’t personally believe myself.

PS I just watched that video. It actually was kind of funny. I see that the other Pat kept you in check at the gate. Without getting into too much detail, he knows your tactics and how to deal with those like yourselves. Every one of the RIILE supporters was very respectful, esp. Terry Gorman. Most of the people at the event were not with RIILE; they just came to hear Rep. Tancredo speak. I’m not a member (yet).
I really didn’t realize that we had so many cameras filming you! If you’ll note, all of the people on our side filming or taking pictures kept at a respectful distance, while you were right at the gate trying to intimidate them by getting into their faces.
Turning your question around from the video around, what scares you about American citizens getting together in private to listen to another private citizen, who just happens to have a different viewpoint than yours?

If somebody’s pointing a camera at me in this type of situation, I just smile and wave.
It’ll piss off the shooter much more than getting in a rage at him. Sometimes, a little cockiness is good – if people on both sides are going to be so childish about cameras, why not have a little fun with that guy coming out from behind the bush?

Will

They were up in our faces right at the entrance filming. We were at some distance, so as not to provoke anything. We know that they are professional provocateurs, so we tried to minimize our contact with them. Terry even very nicely asked them to go across the street, because they were talking up the sidewalk and harassing folks on their way in.
Actually being the guy “behind the bush,” let me explain something very simple. I was behind there, because immediately behind the bush, is the side door which I went outside from. I was having some fun by filming them from behind it! As you may see, I did smile and wave, unlike the people protesting outside, none of whom appeared to be smiling. In fact, they seemed like a rather miserable lot!

I think what we need to do is turn up at the next union meeting that crowley is hosting, and cast our vote on the issues! If challenged – we can just claim to be undocumented union members.
I wonder – will we be allowed to stay?
As a sidebar – My parents were both active members of the UK Labour party and Dad was a union shop steward!..

The demonstrators at the VFW hall were exhibiting no thuggery when they shouted filthy lies at the people attending, were they,Rhody you phony?
But not to worry,we now have a government that will f**k this country up at home and abroad beyond all recognition.”Bank”on it.
I hope you’ll enjoy paying your new “cap and trade”utility bills while Obama throws more money at Wall Streeters and non working dregs who never held a job.
The middle class and blue collar workers will bear the brunt of the “foodie” and his cabal.$100/lb beef at White House dinners-what an obscenity.

Joe, the lies about Obama don’t faze me. I’ve come to expect them. No big whoop here.
I choose to find them kind of funny.

joe bernstein

You wouldn’t be fazed by what you call “lies” because you buy into the Obamabot way of thinking.
I don’t waste time with Obama’s birth certificate issues and other like-minded nonsense.I stick to what is observable fact.
His appointments are mostly Clinton retreads with a few new additions.
The man is vurulently pro-abortion as a convenience.
His behavior on the international stage seems calculated to abase and embarrass the United States.Only Jimmy Carter came even close to Obama’s apologetic behavior. This is the greatest country on earth. If you don’t think so,why are you still here?MAYBE YOU’D LIKE TO MOVE,BUT ALAS,VIRTUALLY EVERY COUNTRY HAS IMMIGRATION LAWS WHICH THEY TAKE SERIOUSLY.
Obama’s foray into massive spending is a definite gamble with the country’s economic future.
Maybe macro and micro economics operate on different principles;I am not schooled in the subject, but I do know that if I overextend myself with credit that isn’t backed by stable equity,I am looking for big trouble down the road.
All this aside, the idea of Holder and Napolitano being in the positions they occupy is alarming. As Jerzyk would say “an outrage”.
