John Loughlin Declares for District One

The Ocean State Republican has the press release.
Rep. Loughlin’s solution for Rhode Island’s substantial public pension liability is here.
Check out his profile on Project Vote Smart. (H’mm, he voted in favor of voter i.d.)
Visit his page on the Rhode Island House of Representatives web site which includes “latest initiatives and legislative activities”.
This post is presented in the spirit of a public service announcement with the goal of informing voters and despite the somewhat insulting circumstance of this blog’s omission from the recipient list of the aforementioned press release.

I’m glad he announced early so he can get a jump on fundraising. Patrick Kennedy has to go.

What an ego. On Loughlin’s best day, it’s still Kennedy 60-40.

I’m sure he must have sent it out to someone at Anchor Rising, too!
John is doing it the right way. He’s getting out there about a year and a half out, and has been going to every GOP event under the sun getting the word out about his candidacy. Obviously, he is technically not a “candidate” until he files a declaration of candidacy form, so he always has the option of opting out before then, if he feels it not worth doing.
I’m sure he wants to do it, it’s just a matter of gauging the public’s willingness to embrace his candidacy. I think people will be looking for real “change” in 2010, and John represents a clear break from what we have now. Just imagine, a congressman who can speak in complete sentences, using both nouns and verbs!

Oh great! So we’ll have one socialist running as a Democrat and another socialist running as a Republican.
Nothing like Democrat light on the ticket. What a joke this place called Rhode Island is.

Flat out: a 21st-century Claudine Schneider type could beat Patrick. True even before his journey back to rehab.
Patrick is NOT as unanimously loved by liberals as you think.

Claudine Schneider? How much wisdom did she display in running against Claiborne Pell?He was a very popular Democrat with no real negatives.Even I voted for him although he was a liberal because he did a lot of good things and was a respectable representative of the state, unlike the money grubbing Reed and the fop Sheldon.
