The Attorney General Should not be Rewarded with Your Vote: What Dave Kane Will Do with Some of the Station Nightclub Fire Settlement Money
Dave Kane issued the following press release today.
Since yesterday’s announcement about the release of the Station Nightclub Fire settlement money, I have been asked several times what our family plans to do with the money. First, at the risk of sounding like a commercial, “We’re going to Disney world”, Nicky’s favorite place to go with his family.
However, the release of these funds does not mean that our fight for justice is over. My wife, Joanne and I are dedicating some of Nicky’s settlement money to begin a Media campaign to defeat Patrick Lynch’s attempt to be elected Governor of the State of Rhode Island.
As Attorney General, Patrick Lynch proved to be an incredible combination of incompetence and corruption. After taking steps and making rulings that resulted in the denial of justice for all the victims and their families, Attorney Lynch wants to be rewarded with your vote for Governor.
The election of Patrick Lynch as Governor would add severe insult to devastating injury to everyone touched by the Station Nightclub Fire. This man needs to be held up as an example of what happens when elected officials fail to execute the duties of their office honorably. As I have said many times, “Patrick Lynch may have been re-elected Attorney General over my son’s dead body. But, he will be elected Governor over mine.”

Don’t waste too much of that money. The incompetent buffoon has no chance of being elected Governor. He might get work as the defense attorney in Chuckie (Plywood) Moreau’s corruption trial though.
Heck, he might have to *hire* someone in his AND Chuckie’s defense…
Lynch is part of the corruption crowd. I agree with John, that not munch should be spent because his ratings are so low. However, this is RI, the home of the brain dead electorate.
Attorney General Lynch continues to offer his prayers and sympathies to all of the victims and survivors of this horrific tragedy, for their irreplaceable losses and devastating injuries that time will never heal.

I agree with the conclusion (regarding Lynch) but not the reasoning behind it. What does one even say to a victim who won’t be happy unless the sentence is the death penalty or life imprisonment? One cannot reason with that kind of emotionality and irrationality. As far as I’m concerned, victims and their families should have no role in sentencing. Vengeance is not justice. Spare me the “you don’t know what it’s like” arguments, because that is precisely why I am in a good spot to judge. If I had lost a son or daughter I would no longer be.

Has your corrupt boss ever heard of the term “CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE?”
That’s what the fire inspectors are guilty of and Lynch let them get away with no charges and a great pension. May Lynch and the criminally negligent fire inspector rot in hell!

With due respect, I don’t think there has ever been an Attorney General in this state that prays more and acts less than AG Lynch.
Maybe he should take a break from his busy prayer-full schedule and actually DO SOMETHING about the corruption and incompetence of our public officials in this state.
It’s not enough to bite your lip and say you feel sorry for everyone involved. If I had a tenant whose child became sick because he was chewing on a window sill or eating paint chips, there’s no doubt in my mind that I would be held responsible.
But the fire inspectors that continually ignored known fire code violations? They get promoted.

While I think a level of protection should be afforded to elected and appointed officials and government employees in the conduct of their positions, it seems if the Attorney General at a MINIMUM could have had legislation submitted to have held certain local officials in West Warwick and state officials in the Station Nightclub Fire tragedy. This MINIMUM being met even he he thought those officials could not be held accountable.
I find it interesting that the liquor supplier as I recall and Great White personalities were held accountable and VERY ARGUABLY they must have known less about the place than the owners and local and state officials.
I had no friends or relatives that were involved in that tragedy.
I make these observations speaking solely for myself.
BTW Since organized labor has issues with Frank Caprio, it would appear they will be pulling heavy for Mr. Lynch so he may actually win the Democratic gubernatorial primary.

Want to correct something. Obviously you can’t hold officials liable/accountable for conduct before it is adopted so that impression should be be dispelled from my earlier statement. However I do find the whole episode interesting on who is and was not accountable for this tragedy.
