Offered entirely tongue in cheek…I think…….Anyway, it looks like Governor Patrick is going to propose a series of tax hikes that could end up making Rhode Island look good in comparison (shhhhh, don’t tell anyone!):
According to Boston.com, Patrick listed possible revenue sources including:
Raising the gas tax from 21 cents to 51 cents per gallon
Raising the sales tax from 6.25 percent to 7.75 percent
Raising the state income tax to 5.66 percent from 5.25 percent
Levying a vehicle miles-traveled tax at 2.4 cents per mile
New, emissions-based vehicle title and registration fees could raise $175 million
A payroll tax on workers in regions with transit service could raise $140 million to $207 million
Of course, my guess is that our leaders oft-stated goal of trying to be more like Massachusetts will finally take hold once these proposals get through!
Ah yes the liberal Northeast. Living the lies that liberal (and self deluded) people live. Tax the rich! Look around…there aren’t enough of them. Alas tax everyone until they bleed. The liberal quest for Utopia is quite elusive. Many a dead unicorn along the way. Hussein Obama, Patrick, phony Missing Linc are cut of the same elite cloth. They never worked for a living and have vampired the system which they govern. Vampires are always hungry and their life blood is your money (taxes,fees) and your freedom. Look around. Both are disappearing.

if you drive a car that gets 25 mpg, 20,000 miles that’s $408 + $480… a cool $888/yr to drive you car in Massachusetts, and that doesn’t include registration fees and property taxes.
There is usually only one thing wrong with the perfect liberal plan. The results. Always “unexpected”.

Just heard today Patrick wants to lower the sales tax to 4.5 percent. Forget the contributions. He’s trying to crush us.
The Verizon tech was around the other day to play with the DSL in my Massachusetts workshop (it is still like creeping Jesus). In the coversation, unavailable FIOS arose. He tells me that Boston will only allow FIOS if Verizon agrees to build three schools. This can be dismissed as uninformed “trash talk”, but behind every fable there is a fact. In this case I believe the policians call the fact “linkage”. Politicians love it because it looks like “soak the rich’, but it is a “tax” on customers somewhere.
