So instead of Rhode Island creating the next World of Warcraft video game, it should be the next leader in brain science, or manufacture toys for disabled kids. Or whatever… Or whatever… I’m shaking my head at all the business owners holding their hands out for EDC grants and tax credits, although I don’t fault them for simply responding to incentives. It’s just indicative of how poisoned the economy of the state has become through perverse incentives created by the General Assembly.
“Expert”-driven central economic planning has never worked and will never work. Until Rhode Island figures that much out and gets its notorious government out of the way, these panels are all a waste in time, and the state will never be anything except a business elephant graveyard with hyenas picking at the bones.

And what is the government’s record on “picking winners”?
