Bush Was Better

Now this is interesting:

Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama’s declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they’d rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that’s somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country’s difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited.

There are a number of centrist-types who were rah-rah for Obama during the campaign from whom I haven’t heard since the man began attempting to govern. In a sense, Obama’s strategy was to hold up a picture of President Bush (not unlike the one that Glenn Reynolds posted in relation to the polling information) and told Americans that he would be the opposite of whatever they didn’t like about his predecessor — left, right, whatever.
It was naked deception, but it worked. Too many right-of-center people didn’t realize that Obama included “even more” among the qualifiers for “opposite.”

I contend that pretty much all politics, campaigns, poll results … are naked deceptions. Regardless of right, left, or center.

Polls by their very nature are not exact science. But they do give you a pretty good idea of where opinions are headed. Unless of course you are a fully partisan hack with no capacity for objectivity. Then you’ll only believe the polls that suit your agenda.
I voted for McCain, but I absolutely hated it as I am sure I would have hated a McCain presidency.
I fully expected a tax-and-spend Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda. I did not expect the President and congress to purposely try to bring the entire nation to it’s knees, economically and national security-wise to the point where the only thing that can save us is the “State” and the “Global Community”. This president wants to destroy this country, so that he, Alinsky and Ayers can have their way with it, forever.
I’m sure Billy Lynch & Co are getting signals from DNC HQ and passing them along to Murphy and P-Weed, to just keep spending. Cuz evrah thin’s gunnah be o’right…

It is truly astonishing the depths of the deception that Obama wrought on the stupid electorate in this country. In a way, it’s not surprising when you look at the prevailing culture – particularly amongst the younger people today. Their short-sighted and ill-informed ways are frightening. One indication of this, that I can’t help but notice, has to do with the tattoos young people today are tarring themselves with.
Does anybody in their right mind not know that some day they will regret this? Does anyone really think that pretty girl with the tattoo on her neck, or arm is going to look nice in a wedding dress? Do these people even think that far ahead?
Unfortunately, this is the same short-sighted, ill-informed thought process that elected Obama.
Knowing this, I am very fearful for the future of this country.

Yes, thats it Mike the members ofthe current generation are stupid because they have tatts. My grandfather must have been a moron to have himself tattoed when he was in the navy. Don’t forget all those dummies in the military that have tatts.

This poll atleast seems legit. Too many “anti obama” polls (such as ones done by fox news) do a disservice by using suspect methods. If you follow the links from politico to the polling site, you can review the question order/question wording/ and a breakdown of everything you need. Polls are polls, if you want you can conduct a poll and get exactly what results you want. Can’t put too much weight into them, atleast this one isn’t faulty and suspect.

“Does anyone really think that pretty girl with the tattoo on her neck, or arm is going to look nice in a wedding dress?”
Yes. She will. Her groom will. That’s all that matters.

Beeffy, if you think that is the same as what is going on today, you are clueless. I’m guessing you also have a tattoo somewhere other than your arm. As for those in the military, one thing they could always do, was hide them when wearing a suit.
However, when Susie has a tramp stamp with Bonzo’s name on it, and she later marries, Bobby, it is a bit of a problem. It just seems real stupid and short-sighted to me. And, it’s vastly different from those in the military, who, by the way, in huge numbers, regret getting them themselves. Go figure.

Patrick, well said. I think we finally found common ground. Maybe there is hope after all.

That groom maybe. But if she’s that shortsighted, so might she be about the commitment into which she is entering.
