Proposed Constitutional Amendments Introduced to the RI House, January 25 – February 3
Because of the snowstorms, the Rhode Island General Assembly has only been in session for three days over the past two weeks, just one legislative week in official “calendar time”, but allowing plenty of time for bills to be introduced and processed.
In addition to regular legislation, three Constitutional Amendments on high-profile topics were introduced during this period in the Rhode Island House:
Proposed Contitutional Amendments
| H5156 | Would limit the annual increase in state spending to the increase in the Consumer Price Index or 3%, whichever is lower. |
| H5177 | Governor and Lieutenant Governor would be elected as a ticket. |
| H5260 | Would define marriage as being between a man and a woman. |
The sooner that the Republican leadership can eliminate the nuts who mingle fiscal responsibility with nonsensical social issues, the sooner we can this state back in order. I don’t CARE who sleeps with whom, who’s married to whom. I care about the tax dollars being wasted by an inept legislature. Enough of the abortion, gay rights, prayer in classroom nonsense. Tackle the REAL issues that concern us all!
