On the Wavelength

For anybody with a spare half-hour tonight: Brown student radio interviewed me about living and blogging conservative in Rhode Island for tonight’s edition of Off the Beat. The show airs locally on 88.1 FM and globally via online stream at 7:30 p.m.

I listened and found the comments of Sheila Lennon both unsurprising and borderline disingenuous. The piece mentioned three blogs: Anchor Rising (“the Right”), RI Future (“the Left”) and Lennon’s MSM Subterranean “Homesick” News (the student goofed, it’s actually “Homepage”). But what was laughable was when Lennon, prompted by RI Future’s claim that “those in the know” visit his sight daily, stated she visits RI Future more like “once a week” and basically never visits Anchor Rising. The reason? She said she had a hard time reading “very partisan” blogs because they “make her head hurt.” The interviewer mentioned that RI Future was obviously Left wing, but Lennon just fluffed it off. All in all, it was a pretty fair piece with the normal breakdown. Two liberals and one conservative. Good job Justin.

Nice job, JK.
Will I be considered naive if I admit to being shocked that Brown University student radio is capable of far greater objctivity than a MSM newsroom staffer?
