Thanking Hillary, Tongue in Cheek
The campaign of Hillary Clinton — herself a College Republican — is coming to town today, and the College Republican Federation of Rhode Island will be at the corner of Post Rd. and Airport Rd. in Warwick at 3:30 to express their gratitude for her vote for the war in 2002 and “for pledging to continue the presence of troops to fight Al Qaeda in Iraq if she is elected President.”
It’s a frightening “if,” I know, but support for the war is support for the war.
The people in RI have become so absorbed with Anti-Bush, anti-war talking points that many of them don’t realize she supported the war in 2002. Of course, it was popular to support the war then.
I still haven’t quite forgiven Hil for allowing herself to be rolled on the war back in ’02.
She also made a yooge mistake with that vicious attack on Obama over the weekend – it plays into the worst stereotypes about her (not to mention panic over Iowa polls), and she can no longer credibly choose him as a running mate.
It would be logical, wouldn’t it, that the two front runners would make the party’s ticket. The problem is that the campaigning required to come out of the primary ahead so that you can be the Pres, not the VP half of the ticket, can get pretty extreme. Hillary may win the primary but still need Obama to win the general. At what point have you gone too far to be the one who decides the order of the ticket?
(“Yooge”?)
Monique, have you ever heard Trump try to say “huge”?
Eww! I thought it was a Rhodisland-ism.
