Election Season Ramping Up
The likelihood that Rhode Island will move in the right direction over the next few years will become increasingly apparent as the election season ramps up. If the right kinds of candidates run, and if they can get some traction, then perhaps (just perhaps) the worst can be avoided.
One candidate to watch will be Robert Paquin, who is running for Representative Joseph McNamara’s District 19 seat in Warwick/Cranston.
On incumbent side, Rep. John Loughlin, District 71 (Tiverton, Portsmouth, Little Compton), has gotten an early start with the YouTube campaigning.
Hopefully, the announcements will keep rolling in.
Don’t forget Jim Haldeman in District 35 running against Deputy Majority Leader Shanley.
The Haldeman campaign has been out and visible in SK since the last election cycle. We’ve out-raised Shanley and are wondering if he may consider backing out after 2 decades of “public service”.
My God, if the GOP can’t find someone to challenge Williamson, Alves, Murphy and Montalbano…what’s the use?
At least try to surpass the Massachusett GOP. Read today that out of 200 legislative seats, they have challengers for 47. Even with the grumbling about Deval Patrick growing.
I just saw this – thanks for the shout!
I just saw this – nice!
