Charlie will finally have to learn how to manage a food budget without relying on catering tables and zip-loc baggies in his pockets.

Is it true that the buyout includes all the Lamb Chops he can eat and a place to sleep undetected at the Pawsox games .

Maybe an illegal alien will steal Charley’s identity and charge $20,000 at various buffet restaurants.
In all sincerity,he will not be missed any more than last week’s trash pickup.

Bakst’s appetite was surpassed only by his ego. Unfortunately, the quality of his columns surpassed neither.
Still, he became a Rhode Island institution by virtue of the position he held. Perhaps the Projo will consider keeping the column, but injecting some fresh blood.

Goodbye forever! He will be sorely missed and I do mean it literally. I can finally take the stake out of my eye that was there to take the focus off Bakst.
Why did he use first initial of his name, followed by middle and last name?
Did he think it would add an aire of importance like M. Night Shyamalan?
Goodbye, so long, enough your end in P-town or wherever you go just please stay away from a phone, typewriter, PDA or any other device where you can document your ignorance for all mankind.

Merrill C. may be just the beginning of the star power the ProJo will lose as a result of the buyouts. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bob Kerr leave, either.
The face of the Red Sox coverage could undergo some drastic change – with the shakeups at the Globe and Herald creating opportunities, don’t be surprised to see Sean McAdam go, either. Or Jim Donaldson, whose self-righteousness, from where I sit, goes well beyond anything Bakst is guilty of.

Nice boardinghouse reach, Mike, especially since we’re dealing with a post about a cantankerous old Jewish guy of sometimes questionable personal habits.
Let me guess…you consider Mario Cuomo a traitor and, in the spirit of this post, you’d love to see him garrotted.
Be careful of pricking your fingers, Mike.
