Cognitive Dissonance with Charlene Lima

Have I been missing something, all these years, or does the appearance of Rep. Charlene Lima (D., Cranston) in this article about the Tax Day Tea Party seem a bit disorienting?

State Rep. Charlene M. Lima, D-Cranston, stopped by after the Assembly finished its business for the day. She said that lawmakers couldn’t hear the protest from inside the building.
“I am here to pick up ideas. I like to read the signs,” she said looking out at posters like, “Save the trees. Stop printing money,” and “I blew my middle class tax cut on this sign.”
“We have to take the state back,” Lima continued. “We have to do what the people want.”

Who is “we” to Charlene Lima, and from whom does she want to retrieve the state? Puzzling political questions, indeed.

According to the Projo, Rep. Lima also had a public shouting match with Speaker Fox about a week or two ago, over the amount of money budgeted for Twin River’s advertising needs. I’m not sure what’s cause and what’s effect here.

Just goes to show She knows the difference between right and wrong.
When she had the power to make a difference she played ball with the leadership. Now with nothing to lose she is for da people .
She is not one to trusted.
Charlene the best thing you could do for us is not run for reelection.

A crowd that had repeatedly chanted “Vote them out,” suddenly changed its tune to, “Vote them in.”
There was a circus atmosphere at the edge of the rally, where vendors offered $20 “Taxed Enough Already” T-shirts and $15 American flags.
from an article by Steve Peoples of the Providence Journal
This gathering of voters (apparently some of the speakers were not of age to vote) catches the attention of hucksers eager to sell their wares. Maybe some politicians see fertile ground there too.

State House leadership has been known to recruit and support candidates to oppose dissident Democrats. It’s very possible that now Lima will get such treatment. She should, but I more wish it was from a Republican. She has long been a horrible, horrible and very untrustworthy elected official. She is a part of the reason that I got interested in politics, due to some disgusting things that she did back during the last state redistricting.

we invite all to come and join the tea-party BUT please join us for the right reason’s. I will be running for state rep and I will have a primary. I did see my primary opponent at the state house and I was shocked! Where have these folk’s been for the last year and a half. Just because it’s an election year you feel you have to join us. You are all welcome but PLEASE be for all the right reason’s. I feel that some elected officials that have been representing us are nervous as well as they should be.

Do voters just write in “Doreen” wherever they vote? Then after voting maybe they can sit around tiny little tables with tiny little tea cups and nibble tiny little cookies Mom made.

But enough about how you spent your weekend, Phil. In 10 years, gov debt will rise to 90% of GDP. Still think all of this spending is a great idea?

I suspect that somehow you are connected to “Doreen”. The only debt that I concern myself with is the debt of gratitude for this wonderful, mysterious gift of life. I’ll pay it in time.

Charlene Lima fell out of favor with the Democratic party after she butted heads with Murphy – the guy who appointed her as Speaker Pro Tem. The result – she is no longer Speaker Pro Tem and has zero future in the Democratic party. Those who know her, are well aware that she, just like her ex-con husband Frank Fiorenzano, does only that which benefits herself or her agenda. Her latest scheme to ensconce herself with the Tea Party is so transparent that it is laughable. She is not a politician who “has seen the light” – she is a desperate politician, whose own party has demoted her to a “nobody”. She sees the tea Party as an opportunity solely to get votes in the aftermath of being dumped by her party. Anyone who thinks her interest in the Tea Party is anything more than pandering for votes need only look at her voting record. It clearly establishes that she is nothing but a union puppet and just another political hack with a voting record contrary to EVERYTHING the Tea Party stands for.
