Mike the chairman of the Dem party admits that his volunteers are putting out those signs.
It is hilarious that the excessive tax party is attacking an obvious tax and spend liberal over taxes. Very funny stuff!
What shocks me is that it has taken the Dem party/Caprio camp so long to go after Chafee. There are so many avenues to attack Chafee and spotlight the disloyal tax and spend dunce that he is. They may have waited too long. We’ll see tomorrow night.

It’s Truth in advertising and it’s about time. There is and never has been anything to “trust” about Linc Chafee. He bows down to the unions, always has, always will. He is not a smart man. He is basically unemployable – he’s never had a job (except shoeing horses in Canada – why Canada, was he avoiding the draft here in the US?), his “fellowship” at Brown is suspect, he probably pays them for it. What might his income tax return have revealed about that? Chafee is totally out of touch with the reality of the economy because it doesn’t touch him. He’s so out of touch he doesn’t know what his property taxes are. He registers his cars in Exeter instead of Providence, his legal residence, because it saves him in taxes? What a hypocrite. He is a scammer, cheating the rest of the property tax payers. There should be a law against what he has done with those vehicles and avoiding taxes, if there isn’t already. How do the people of Exeter like subsidizing a millionaire’s tax bills? The Chafees putting their hands out for that Forestlands program subsidy is outrageous. That is not what the intent of those subsidies are – to have the rest of us subsidize the landholdings of millionaires! There’s a big difference between someone who owns land that has been part of the family for generations and wanting to keep it undeveloped but not having enough income to pay the “normal” taxes and being forced to sell it (the land-poor), and multi-millionaires! Chafee thinks it’s okay to let the people who live in the trailer parks in Exeter subsidize his taxes. Trust him? It is a morally rupugnant act on his part to expect those taxpayers to subsidize him. He can’t get over… Read more »

riborn-Amen to that!!You put it better than anyone.I don’t think Chafee is old enough to have faced draft problems.
His father was a freat patriot, dropping out of Harvard to fight in WW2 and later in Korea. This woosy punk is nOT his father.
That (the sign, paid for by the democratic party) is the most ridiculous, unimaginative thing I’ve seen in a while.

“NO NEW TAXES
Vote Democrat”
You have to love it in the very year that the GA raised (indirectly by gutting local aid with no mandate relief) property taxes over $150 million rather than cut their base of cronies, thugs, unions, welfare mooches, illegal aliens, babysitters, etc., etc., etc.
This state is doomed-and we deserve EVERY THING we get.
Douglas, what are you calling mudslinging in this case? The fact that his opponents are pointing out that Mr. Chafee supports a broad-based increase in the sales tax? Isn’t that more in the category of an observation of fact than mud-slinging?

ironic, that the Party of Taxes would call out Chafee, on being a… Democrat.
methinks the democrats had nothing to do with it.

There has been more mudslinging this year than any other that i can remember.
