I watched the President’s latest news conference today. The only positive was, for a change, he didn’t stack the room with cheering panderers and groupies. The mantra is ‘the debt ceiling has nothing to do with new spending.’ It’s just another example of the President speaking down to all the idiots. He’s says, “You can’t eat a steak dinner and then just walk away with out paying for it.” Someone tell the President that if you haven’t paid for the last steak dinner, maybe you shouldn’t have another before you pay off the last one.
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren.
