Nowadays I am afraid that some media turds would have “leaked” the invasion in advance with no concern for casualties.

Over 6600 US casualties in one day, if my figures are correct.
Today’s liberals want to surrender an entire war based on fewer casualties than that over 3 years.

Get real. If you can’t see the difference between the cause of our entry into WWII and the trumped up and discredited causes for our entry in the Iraq fiasco then you should at least have the good sense to keep your absurd comparisons to yourself. It is sacrilege to even compare the two events. Shame on you.

No politics here, please.
I think we can all agree that those brave men were (and still are) heroes!
God bless them always…
Tom Kennedy,
I don’t know if it’s politics or not, but this is how I feel about Iraq. Read the stanzas and substitute for Walrus and Carpenter, Republican and Democrat discussing “our troops”, the Oysters.
“I weep for you,” the Walrus said:
“I deeply sympathize.”
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.
“O Oysters,” said the Carpenter,
“You’ve had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?’
But answer came there none–
And this was scarcely odd, because
They’d eaten every one.

Yes, indeed.
