Fine, Mike, if you feel standing with Alves against the “lavender mafia” is more important than rooting corruption out of our state government.
… I assume Mike was making a little joke.
For the record, orientation is irrelevant here. What matters is the identification, prosecution and removal of legislators such as Senator Alves who (okay, fine: allegedly) seriously abuse their official power for personal gain and – more than once in the case of the Senator from West Warwick – revenge. Their presence in our General Assembly accrues a high price to the state financially as well as in image.
